Every Story is a Travel Story
The title of the program refers to Michel De Certeau’s notion of story as a moving entity, capable of navigating throughout different spaces and levels of narrations as well as physical places. According to the French theorist, stories do not simply tell about a movement, but they make it. They are spatial trajectories and vehicles for journeys that reformulate the space throughout the displacement they describe. It is from such a specific angle that this screening addresses the relationship between immigration and imagination, creating an open platform where different stories and testimonies can come together.
Refugee Week is a week of events, workshops and activities organized every year across the UK to celebrate the positive contribution of immigrants and asylum seekers within the country’s cultural life
